Surrealism is an artistic movement that began in the 1920s in France. Surrealist artists create works that do not use logic and are inspired by dreams and imagination in general. Surrealism brings together different types of artists : poets, painters, writers, sculptors, photographers …
“Le Cadavre Exquis” is an exercise that consists of creating a meaning together without knowing what the others have written. The result is often very strange and sometimes funny sentences.
Collage is a common practice in surrealism, we cut out and put together all types of images to create a new image that does not represent reality.
We created our own beaches and associated them with our “cadavres exquis” written in class. Our work is currently on display at the school library (CDI).
