When going back to school rhymes with new things!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For the past three weeks, the teams at the Lyc\u00e9e Fran\u00e7ais Saint Louis Foundation have been engaged in a breathless race to welcome our pupils for the new school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Less than two months to organise the meticulous, serene and caring welcome of more than 750 pupils aged from 1 to 18 and of 30 different nationalities, in terms of logistics, administration, teaching and education!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Less than three months to complete the extension work on the annex, so that the students can benefit from modernised study conditions that are suited to the student attitude we want them to acquire!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Less than a week to assess the potential of the new school playground for primary and secondary school pupils, designed to encourage a peaceful sharing of space, both between people and with nature!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Even less time to welcome the 19 new members of staff who took up their duties at the start of the new school year!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There was no shortage of things to do\u2026 So what a joy it was, on Friday 23 August, to see the smiles on the pupils\u2019 faces, as well as the hugs and amazement at their new surroundings. The whole event was organised in a simple but effective way, finishing with the pupils entering 6\u00e8me having a fun way of discovering what life is like at coll\u00e8ge, mentored by their friends from the 5\u00e8me!<br><br>In practical terms, the secondary school pupils got the ball rolling in the morning: welcomed in the courtyard of the annexe, they had the opportunity to visit the new premises, take possession of them and list, with their teachers, the challenges for the year, before having lunch, for the first time, in the canteen installed in the annexe!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the primary school pupils discovered their teachers, classrooms and, for those who hadn\u2019t been to Fritids this summer, the brand new school playground: the excitement of arriving in the playground soon gave way to the joy of meeting up again and the seriousness of preparing their desks and all the school equipment made available by LFSL.<br><br>In the meantime, the secondary school pupils were discovering the school playground, their classrooms, teachers and timetables, all of which set the pace for the morning until lunchtime. Then came the afternoon integration activities for the pupils in 6\u00e8me and 5\u00e8me.<br><br>A weekend was needed to recover from all these emotions! And on Monday morning, everyone was on hand to launch this new school year in earnest: it begins with significant changes in terms of buildings and staffing; it also begins with adjustments to the organisation and content of teaching, for the benefit of our pupils and in line with our educational project based on the Swedish statutes of the LFSL Foundation and approval by the French Ministry of Education.<br><br>The year is now well under way: so keep up to date by visiting our website and our social networks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Denis RAVAILLE<br>Headmaster<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>August 26, 2024<\/em><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What a back-to-school!
