One Year in Stockholm

An outstanding academic experience with full international immersion.
Give your child a unique year in a safe, multicultural, and forward-looking environment.

The Project

The “One Year in Stockholm” program offers students in Seconde, Première or Terminale the opportunity to spend a full academic year at the French Lycée Saint Louis in Stockholm, even more, in a setting that is both rigorous, secure, and deeply enriching.

Students continue their education within the French system without interruption, while benefiting from immediate linguistic immersion in English and Swedish, at the heart of a trilingual environment. This experience is a real asset for Parcoursup as well as for universities abroad. For families—whether sending or host—it is also a unique human adventure: a project based on trust, cultural exchange, and support, where everyone actively contributes to the student’s personal growth and success.

Three Pillars

  • Academic Continuity
The program ensures full continuity within the French educational system, allowing students to pursue their school year without disruption or risk to their academic path. Enrolled at the French Lycée Saint Louis in Stockholm, they evolve in a structured and demanding environment. For host families, this means supporting a committed student, with solid academic follow-up and a clear framework.
  • A Secure Project
Everything is designed to provide a safe and reassuring environment. A clear legal framework governs the student’s stay, while insurance and healthcare arrangements ensure their daily protection. The student’s families of origin can therefore approach this experience with peace of mind, while host families benefit from structured guidance and clear reference points in their role.
  • Logistics and Human Support
The organization is based on a balance between student independence and attentive support. Hosted by a family, the student shares daily life and discovers a new culture from the inside. The school provides regular follow-up, both academically and personally. For host families, it is a rewarding exchange experience, and for sending families, a guarantee that their child is growing in a caring and attentive environment.

Key Benefits

Living in Sweden allows your child to discover one of Europe’s most innovative countries, while evolving in an environment that values autonomy and responsibility. On a daily basis, they naturally practice English—both at school and in everyday life—and open themselves to a new, rich, and different culture.

For you, whether sending or host families, it is a concrete experience of international openness that goes beyond the academic framework and becomes a true life and exchange project.

Budget

You should expect to budget between €24,000 and €26,000 to cover the entire experience: tuition, accommodation with a host family, daily life, and insurance. Tuition-related fees are paid to LFSL, and accommodation-related fees are paid directly to the host family. The entire arrangement is legally governed by a formal agreement.
It is also necessary to take into account, when considering this, the expenses that the family will no longer have to cover for the student’s daily life in Stockholm: food, cafeteria meals, school supplies and textbooks, any tuition fees, and daily transportation.
As a family, you can plan this project with confidence and full cost transparency. For host families, this framework ensures balanced and transparent conditions, fostering a relationship of trust. Financing solutions or partial support may also be available depending on your situation, to make this experience accessible to as many people as possible.
