SCHOOL BAGS FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS

After the terrible disaster that occurred on August 4, 2020 in the Lebanese capital, the AEFE is joining forces with the Solidarité Laïque federation, the Mlf, the AFLEC and the ALFM Union to support a fundraising for public school students. of Beirut and thus allow them to be equipped for the coming school year.

On August 4, Beirut was affected by a terrible disaster that claimed many lives and caused considerable damage, leaving many schools and families in dire need. “The government and the Agency have mobilized to support establishments in the French education network. But we also thought it would be good if our network could show solidarity with Lebanese schools outside the network. Even if it is not about our students and our schools, this situation does not leave us indifferent to those involved in education. ” explains Olivier Brochet, Director of AEFE.

This is why the AEFE has joined forces with the organisations Solidarité Laïque , Mission laïque française (Mlf), the Franco-Lebanese Association for Education and Culture (AFLEC) and the Union-ALFM for a solidarity campaign entitled “Urgence Beyrouth” – Schoolbags for public school students”. It is indeed a matter of equipping school children and allowing them, as serenely as possible, to approach the new school year.

Solidarité Laïque, a recognized public utility association, is in charge of collecting donations from September 16 to October 2 and for purchasing equipment (school bags, school supplies, masks and hydroalcoholic gel).

“Even modest, each donation from the network can make it possible to provide significant help” the Director of AEFE points out. He thanks in advance all the goodwill in favor of a mobilization: “We hope that this project which embodies the values of solidarity and commitment that we promote will meet with a very broad assent within the school communities ”.
