On April 30, all students in “Terminale” received their graduation hats. In Sweden, a graduation hat is indeed given to the graduating students, as a symbol of the end of high school. According to tradition, the graduating students are allowed to wear the hats whenever they want to, even during classes, until their graduation. Mr. Laurent Cantuel, Headmaster, and Mrs. Rebecca Lemberger, Coordinator of Swedish studies, talked a little about the symbolic value and tradition of the graduation hat. Together with the music teacher, Alexandre Pier Federici, everyone sang the traditional Swedish song “Studentsången”, which the students should be able to sing by heart on their graduation day. This year, several teachers attended the event and were able to enjoy the song.
