Nobel Prize winner – Gérard Mourou at the LFSL!

On December 6, 2018, LFSL was honoured a visit by the Nobel Prize in physics, Mr. Gérard Mourou, who gave a conference for students in 3ème and the high school students.

After the conference, the students could ask questions to Mr. Mourou about his research and the course that led to him to win this prestigious prize.
Mr. Gérard Mourou was received by the headmaster, Mr. Laurent Cantuel, and the Schools management team, as well the French ambassador, Mr. David Cvach, the French consul, Mr. Kevin Billières and the French cultural and science councellor, Mrs. Emmanuelle Swynghedauw.

The Nobel Prize is celebrated every year at the Lycée Français and earlier in the day, a ceremony took place, where the embassy’s representatives together with the headmaster, Mr. Laurent Cantuel, the director of the elementary school , Mr. Maël Renault, and APE’s chairman, Mrs. Nadège Lemire, handed out LFSL’s own “Nobel Prizes” as a conclusion to a whole week’s activities on science, research and inventions for the students in the elementary school.
