2024 laureates of Diplôme National du Brevet honoured!

The traditional ceremony to honour the laureates of the Diplôme National du Brevet took place on Wednesday 13 November in the Aula of the Lycée Français Saint Louis.
Teachers, educational staff and families gathered in large numbers to celebrate the winners of the June 2024 Brevet.

Katerina Doytchinov, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Action and representative of the French Embassy in Sweden, began by congratulating them and emphasising the significance of this first school diploma. Then Denis Ravaille, the Headmaster, praised their individual and collective success: with 98% passing (and even 100% of those present for the tests!) and almost 75% with a ‘very good’ grade, the collective performance was remarkable. The Principal also offered the laureates the encouragement of the entire community for their future endeavours, inviting them to have confidence in their qualities and abilities when looking at their diplomas. Finally, he invited everyone to thank the teachers and all the members of staff for their important role in this success. Not forgetting the families who see in this success the fruit of their decisions.

It was then the turn of the (former) head teachers of the classes 3ème, Emilie Dorey and David Niel, to celebrate the students’ success before the individual distribution of diplomas, presented on stage by Katerina Doytchinov. The Principal closed the ceremony by celebrating the fact that, in June 2024, two students currently enrolled in 2nde will be awarded the Diplôme National du Brevet, having sat the exam as independent candidates as a result of their life experiences. Through these successes and their career paths, he underlined the importance that the French education system places on educational continuity and the acquisition of the core knowledge and skills deemed necessary for the exercise of citizenship.

The former ‘3ème’, many of whom are now in 2nde at the Lycée Français Saint Louis, but some of who are students at a Swedish gymnasium, were delighted to be reunited. The ceremony ended with some light refreshments to celebrate this great achievement together!
